This new app continues ProVision’s mission to empower and simplify the lives of both fleet managers and drivers by combining all key fleet risk management, safety and compliance needs into a single powerful platform. It has seen robust testing among a closed group of leading fleet operators to ensure the technology exactly fits the differing needs of operators of all sizes.

ProVision Go provides two modes of operation. The first is the Driver Mode, which allows drivers to store their compliance data, such as CPC dates and driving license info, and log accident reports and safety checks, including vehicle walkaround checks. In Fleet Manager Mode, the app provides access to all vehicle and driver compliance data, safety and accident reports, and vehicle tracking and telematics data.

Mervyn O’Callaghan, Managing Director at ProVision CameraMatics, said: “This marks a new chapter for ProVision, which not only extends the power of CameraMatics, but releases it from a solely office-based technology to an anywhere technology.”

ProVision Go: Safety Checks Management

Not only are walkaround checks a necessary part of ongoing compliance, but they are also crucial for reducing and optimising workshop and maintenance costs. With ProVision Go’s Checklist Manager, fleet managers can create bespoke checklists for any vehicle type and allows specific lists to be created for compliance with FORS, CLOCS and similar organisations. Drivers and staff can then complete these checks on their phones with ease, and similarly fleet managers can review and sign-off or action repairs while on the move.

“A unique aspect of this app is that drivers are shown all driving alerts when they begin a relevant safety check,” added Mervyn O’Callaghan. “This adds an extra level of reassurance and compliance for operators, knowing that drivers are made aware of potentially hazardous driving behaviour.”

An endlessly customisable solution, checklists are tailored to the specific requirements of a fleet. Fleet managers can mark certain items as ‘critical’ and, if one of these items fails the check, the fleet manager is immediately notified with an alert. All data is stored in the ProVision Command Centre and can be retrieved at any point.

ProVision Go: Accident Reporting

ProVision Go’s Accident Reporting simplifies the process of logging the key details of an accident or even near-misses, helping record all critical information in a simple step-by-step approach. This ensures that all information is captured immediately and not later, when specific details may have been forgotten.

To support the accident report, users can store photos and video, add text and descriptions, and tag reports with a time and date stamp. Third-party witness and police information, number plates, insurance details and driving licences are just some of the supporting information that drivers can attach to their reports.

As with the Checklist Management section, all data is securely stored and easily accessible in the Command Centre at any time. It can even be forwarded to the authorities and insurance companies to speed up the process of managing a claim.

ProVision Go: First Notification of Loss

Thanks to the ProVision Go app, fleet operators can, for the first time, easily link compliance data with the onboard footage and vehicle data to provide a comprehensive package of data for First Notification of Loss. All delivered from a single powerful yet simple system.

ProVision Go: Digital first

Earlier this year, a study by ProVision discovered a shocking lack of critical compliance, with 17% of respondents stating that they do not carry out walkaround checks at all, and 63% perform paper-based walkaround checks. What’s more, 15% of respondents admitted to not having any accident reporting process, and 64% reported accidents on paper.

“Compliance plays such a crucial role in the transport and logistics world today. It’s astonishing to see that so many fleets simply do not carry out the necessary safety checks and accident reporting procedures. We were also surprised by the high percentage of respondents who still rely on paper-based methods. These two groups highlight why we developed this crucial app and the need for it,” said Mervyn O’Callaghan.

Paper checks can introduce disconnects and delays in reporting that may cause issues further down the line. Electronic records, on the other hand, are much easier to maintain and review. With ProVision Go, reports can be logged instantly and thoroughly, then received by the fleet manager almost instantly, ensuring maximum compliance. All information is saved in one place, online and always accessible.

Customer plans

The ProVision Go app is available both to customers with ProVision hardware and a corresponding CameraMatics subscription, as well as to fleet operators that do not own any ProVision hardware.

ProVision CameraMatics Plan subscribers can get full access to all the features of the app for a small additional per-vehicle monthly fee. Although fleet operators without any CameraMatics hardware or corresponding plan will not have access to any fleet tracking or telematics data, they can gain access to the fleet compliance, checks and accident reporting features by paying a monthly per-vehicle fee.
