Proctors Transport, road haulage and freight distribution specialists, are the latest to see vast savings & 100% compliance since using r2c Online’s digital Driver solution.

r2c’s innovative Digital Driver Check app has been designed with optimum compliance, ROI and driver/manager communication in mind. Workshop Manager, Scott Marshall, tells us how the digital aid has helped Proctors Transport: “We now have 100% compliance. Our relationship with DVSA is excellent and we want to be leading the way rather than playing catch up when enforcement transitions to digital.”

A thriving independent business, Proctors Transport have worked with a number of blue chip manufacturing and agricultural equipment suppliers, such as Tarmac and John Deere, for over 40 years. With customers this big, they cannot afford to take risks when it comes to their day-to-day fleet operations and safety. They chose to adopt r2c Online’s platform, and haven’t looked back since.

Like many in the logistics industry, Scott found multiple problems with the manual driver check process. “Before we started using r2c, we had a few drivers that were not completing a nil defect report, with problematic consequences. We were also having issues receiving defects in a timely manner, meaning they tended to pile up at weekends.

“All of these problems have now been resolved. The user-friendly platform means our defects are being reported much more quickly and easily, allowing us to plan our workload better, order parts in time and organise repairs at outside suppliers much more easily. We now have improved transparency with customers and DVSA, and using paperless software helps reduce our carbon footprint, so we’re winning all round.”

r2c’s real-time Driver reporting has ensured that Proctors Transport’s fleet of Renault, Volvo & DAF articulated curtainsiders and heavy plant transporters are running as efficiently as possible. Scott continued, “Drivers are now more inclined to report defects straight away. And as drivers can easily report defects from anywhere in the country at any time, we’re happy to announce that we no longer experience those dreaded weekend pile-ups.”

Not only has the digital system improved Proctors Transport’s operations, it has also enhanced their customer experience: “Our customers are very impressed with the system and that we are being proactive towards safety. When one of our blue chip customers asked about our drivers’ walk round checks, we were instantly able to show them a report for that day, showing total compliance.” Scott concluded, “I would most definitely recommend r2c to others in our industry. It is a fantastic leap forward for our fleet operation.”

Nick Walls, Managing Director of r2c Online commented, “Our solutions have been designed to open up affordable best of breed technology to all businesses, and Proctors Transport give a fine example of how such technology can completely transform fleet management. We are thrilled that Scott has experienced such positive rewards and look forward to building upon our strong relationship with Proctors Transport.”
