The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has published a new guide that explains how to qualify to drive dangerous goods vehicles.

It includes information about:

  • choosing what training you need

  • finding a training provider

  • getting and keeping your ADR card up to date

  • replacing an ADR card

  • staying qualified by taking refresher training

  • adding substance classes to your ADR card

If you’re in England, you can also use Skills Bootcamps to help you qualify to transport dangerous goods.

The Skills Bootcamps are free, and include courses that will lead to the ADR qualification if you already have an HGV licence.
