When it comes to the auto industry, there are a lot of things that absolutely scream luxury – but true luxury comes in a few features that might not always be loud. More often than not, luxury comes in the form of things that make your drive more comfortable – and that is why they come with a hefty price tag.

But what are the five marks of luxury that make owning a Jaguar car or cruising in a Lexus worth it?

Connection

Now, with modern luxury cars, one of the signs is connection. Your car will hook up to the tech you use, like your phone or smartwatch. It will have built-in navigation, and most often, it comes with an app to be able to use it, too.

This is all part of a personalized experience; while the outside might look the same, the inside is completely that of the driver.

Comfort

There is comfortable enough, and there is true comfort. The seats in a luxury car are built a little bit difference and are designed to hug and support the body in all of the right ways. The materials used are of higher quality, and most often, they are handstitched or hand-finished.

You’ll often find better padding in the seats, and the materials on the outside are hardwearing but comfortable. Soft leathers, or other leathers, are a popular choice for luxury cars – and it is part of what gives a luxury car that unique smell.

Autonomous

Many brands of cars come with some level of cruise control or other ways to support the driver. But luxury cars are now moving into a space where they can drive for you. We have seen this predominantly in other brands of cars that would consider themselves luxury brands.

There is a lot to be said for a car that can make some of the drive a hands-free (almost) experience. Lan assistance, automatic parking, and cruise control can make for a less exhausting and much safer drive.

Exterior

The design features of a luxury car on the outside can be loud, or they can be sleek – but one thing is for sure: they will use high-quality materials and paint. They may have unique and defining features that you may not see on the less expensive models. Luxury cars are typically built for performance and to look good – and that is seen with the sharp lines, bolder colors, and better materials.

Safety

All cars need to meet certain safety standards, and the newer models in all car makes will have many of them. But in the price of a luxury car, you’d expect to see more of them – and you’d be right. There are more safety features packed into luxury cars that protect the driver, passengers, and, to some extent, the car, too.

Automatic adaptive headlights, better emergency braking, and automated systems for blind-spot monitoring should all be as standard in any luxury car that you are considering.
