An extra 200 mm of headspace from a modified High-Roof sleeper cab, making the overall standing height of 6ft6, brings more than just additional headspace benefits, claims manufacturer Hatcher Components.

Designed for the DAF LF, Volvo FL and Renault D Series, the modified cab ensures all but the very tallest operators have ample standing room but also provides increased storage capacity through larger lockers and new additional side pockets. That’s good news for drivers wanting additional comfort and convenience but for hauliers it has benefits beyond driver satisfaction too. The new cab eliminates the need for a supplementary roof spoiler for a number of body configurations.

The modified cab came about via feedback from hauliers. “Our cabs come with various options to suit operator and hauliers alike but some customers noted that the tallest members of their staff found headroom a bit limiting – we were asked us if we could find a solution. This was simply to increase the roofline giving an additional 200mm of headroom.”

“We take a practical approach to our sleeper conversions and our view is this conversion makes the original factory sleeper much more usable for operators,” suggests Hatcher’s Kevin Collins.

Finished in a light grey trim the finish is a close match to the original specification of all three manufacturers, and the cab is well equipped with LED lighting, USB port and electric sunroof as standard. Extras include a microwave and sun visor.

The conversion is extremely light making it particularly suited for 7.5 ton body variants.
