Goodyear has winter all wrapped up

In Goodyear’s commercial vehicle tyre ranges it is not only the UltraGrip dedicated winter truck and coach ranges that are suitable for winter conditions.  In addition to these, Goodyear Municipal drive tyres, 17.5” and 19.5” Regional Haul Drive tyres and the newly introduced Goodyear KMAX D, and Goodyear FUELMAX D tyres, which will be available as of January 2014 in most European markets, qualify as winter tyres. Continental develops new approach to recycling

The international tyre manufacturer and automotive supplier Continental has developed a new approach to recycling rubberised steel cord scrap, a by-product of its tyre production. The device, called the Hurricane Machine makes it possible to separate uncured rubber compound and steel cord, a development which marks yet another step in Continental’s pursuit of making tyre production more sustainable. New HGV height limit in Ireland

The Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport in Ireland is reminding road users that from November 1 the maximum height of any vehicle on Irish roads – including HGVs – will be 4.65 metres. The regulations giving effect to this limit were signed into effect by the previous Government and are now being implemented following a substantial ‘washing out’ period, designed to give the haulage industry sufficient time to prepare.
