Zak the Zebra, mascot of road safety charity Brake’s national child safety campaign, Watch out there’s a kid about!,attended a protest in Morley this morning.
Zak joined Morley mums in their campaign to make local blackspot, Britannia Road, safe for their children.
Bereaved mums Toni Hudson and Lynnette Twitchett lead the roadside protest calling for Leeds City Council to take immediate action to prevent further deaths on Britannia Road.
Hannah Hudson was killed in June this year, on the pavement just metres from her house when a car lost control on Britannia Road and ploughed into her. Her mum, Toni Hudson, is heading up the protest for better safety measures to be introduced on the road, along with Lynnette Twitchett, whose son Christopher Benson was killed on the same road by a hit and run driver just four years earlier.
