The Highways Agency has announced that resurfacing work is to take place on the A1 in Lincolnshire between Grantham and Stamford, from Monday, 1 November until Friday, 12 November.
These essential works will be carried out overnight, and will improve the safety and quality of the carriageway for road users. Work will be taking place in two stages:
Monday, 1 to Sunday, 7 November when the A1 southbound carriageway will be closed between the hours of 10pm and 6am each night between the A1/A607 junction near Grantham and the A1/A606 junction near Stamford. Traffic will be diverted via the A607 and A606. Monday, 8 to Friday, 12 November. The corresponding section of northbound carriageway will be closed between the hours of 10pm and 6am, with traffic following the same diversion.
Highways Agency Project Manager Mark Braithwaite said: “We are carrying out this essential road resurfacing work at night when traffic is lightest to minimise delay to road users. Due to the road closures and associated diversion routes, drivers should plan their journeys and allow extra time to reach their destinations.”
