GBA Services, the UK-based specialist transport company, say that without the EU code EN12642XL, their European operation would undoubtedly experience load restrictions and hold ups from local authorities. With Head Office in Preston and depots throughout the UK and in Poland, GBA Services transport high value goods including automotive and aeronautical parts, electronics and specialist temperature-controlled goods, including pharmaceuticals by road, rail, air and sea.
“Due to our type of work” says Transport Manager, William Jessop, “we cannot afford hold ups by local authorities checking our trailer equipment. Load security and safety is paramount to our operation and the Euroliners/ProfiLiners we use from Krone are all certified to the highest European standards.”
In addition to safety and secure loading, GBA Services report faster and improved loading thanks to Krone’s unique Multi-Safe Load Securing System.
“There’s no question” adds William Jessop, “this load securing system is much easier to use and gives us greater flexibility. Our drivers particularly like the internal load strapping capability.”
The GBA fleet specialises in express delivery and all vehicles in the fleet can be double-manned to ensure non-stop distribution. The fleet comprises 50 artics, 50 7.5/18 ton curtain and box rigids, 80 trailers including refrigerated and 100 panel vans. The ProfiLiners from Krone will be expected to last up to 10 years, in line with GBA’s fleet policy.
“Quality of build is a key feature for us when selecting our trailers”, concludes William Jessop. “This, combined with Krone’s European back-up service, reputation for providing the best Euroliner-type curtainsider and European codification made our equipment choice straight forward.”
