A 1:1 scale LEGO truck built by tyre manufacturer, Goodyear, for the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany is currently being auctioned on eBay.
The truck is being auctioned to benefit the European commercial vehicle drivers’ initiative DocStop for European truck drivers. The German Transport Minister Peter Ramsauer, who supports the campaign, signed the huge model at the IAA.
At 2.5 meters wide, 3.5 meters high, about 2.5 meters long and weighing approximately 740 kilograms, the truck is among the largest LEGO models in the world.
It was built using about 250,000 LEGO bricks, and a total of 410 hours was invested in the planning and construction of the truck.
The model, which boasts Goodyear Marathon LHSII+ tyres, will be offered for sale on the world’s largest online marketplace, eBay (www.ebay.de and http://pages.ebay.de/starsandcharity/).
All the money raised will be donated by Goodyear to DocStop, offering professional drivers medical care while they are traveling. The aim is to provide every truck driver in Europe with quick and easy access to a doctor if needed
