Goodyear has unveiled its new Omnitrac MST II trailer tyre for mixed service applications, which offers better performance in key areas compared to its predecessor.
Fleet operator tests show the tyre offers not only up to 15% better mileage than its predecessor but also up to 25% better mileage than a main premium competitor. The MST II features Omnitrac Max Technology and complements the Goodyear MSS II and MSD II mixed service steer and drive tires.
Trailers in mixed service typically operate in the construction industry where they are regularly used on the road, on sites and in quarries. Tyres developed for mixed service use must not only give good all round performance on the road but also have the damage resistance to withstand the tough conditions encountered off-road and yet return high mileage and therefore low cost per kilometer. The Goodyear Omnitrac MST II delivers in all these areas.
The Goodyear MST II features Omnitrac Max Technology, which combines latest technology materials and design elements, including damage resistant tread compounds, robust carcass constructions and optimized tread patterns. This results in excellent mileage in on and off road service as well as excellent traction performance. The tyre has a wide tread, deep tread depth and multi-radii cavity for even wear and extra mileage. A zigzag center-line groove and off-set block edge design provide improved on/off road traction and solid center-line grooves increase the damage resistance.
Stone penetration protectors combined with double groove angle ensure better stone drilling resistance and groove self-cleaning. To reduce chip/chunk, the tread also has a stiff block design without blading. The tread further features a special combination of elements for noise reduction.
