Carriageway improvements for M40 near High Wycombe

September 1, 2010

A major scheme to improve the carriageway of the M40 between junction three and junction four near High Wycombe will begin next week.

The scheme, which is due to start on 6 September 2010, will see the carriageway resurfaced, bridges waterproofed, and road studs installed to improve safety.

Once this work is completed, the route should remain in good condition for many years to come.

For the safety of road users, a contraflow and 50mph speed limit will be in place while the work is carried out. The scheme is expected to take up to six weeks to complete.

Aran Nugent, the Highways Agency project sponsor, said: “The work is part of our ongoing investment in keeping our roads operating safely and reliably. The resurfacing will provide a smoother, quieter surface for road users and local people and the road studs will improve safety along this stretch of the M40. We ask that drivers take extra care when travelling through the roadworks.”
