In a bid to continue its commitment to improving road safety, Drive & Survive, the fleet driver training specialists, has joined a number of enterprises, associations, research institutions and public authorities in the signing of the European Road Safety Charter.
The Charter is an initiative set up by the European Commission Representation and the Department of Transport to establish a community of road safety practitioners.
By June 2009, more than 1,400 entities have signed the Charter and have undertaken commitments that demonstrate a greater awareness about road safety with a challenge that aims to reduce the number of road fatalities by half before 2010.
Neil Greig, Director of Policy and Research who attended the signing in London, said: “In signing the Charter, we hope to continue our commitment in reducing the number of road fatalities in the UK and become part of an active community that will help further raise awareness on road safety and ultimately reduce fatalities.”
Seb Goldin, Drive & Survive Managing Director said: “With statistics showing that one in three road crashes involves someone who drives to or at work, Drive & Survive plans to attract new customers with a range of new road safety, e-training and fleet management products, which will enhance occupational driver safety, in turn cutting down the number of occupational driver accidents.”
