Renault Trucks UK Ltd has announced the appointment of Marc Martinez as its new Managing Director.
Marc will commence his new role on the 1st July 2010. He succeeds Laurent Farman, who will be taking up the position of Managing Director at Renault Trucks Spain.
Marc (46), has worked within Renault Trucks for 22 years, primarily in sales roles in the French subsidiary. He started his employment with the company as a salesman, providing an interface with the French network, and then developed through sales, key account management and director roles. In 2005 he was appointed as Managing Director of Renault Trucks France.
He has a Masters degree in business and has combined his professional qualifications and practical experience over the years to overcome many challenging situations in the French market; from the buy-back crisis, to new product launches, network reorganisations and widely fluctuating market conditions. As a result, he has a very strong truck business background, with a wealth of experience to bring to the UK organisation.
He explains, “I think that the UK is a huge opportunity for me that will add a whole new, more international, dimension to my career. I’m looking forward to meeting new customers and to experience a new culture and a new way of doing business that I am sure will challenge me both personally and professionally.
Most importantly, I will be focusing on some key priorities for Renault Trucks in the UK. To develop the profitability of the company in a tough economic climate and to consolidate the Renault Trucks brand in the UK truck market. With the latter, our dealer network will be a key factor in our success, so I am looking forward to working very closely with them and developing the quality of our product and service offers.”
