Freight Best Practice updates OLB
Tuesday, February 9th, 2010The Freight Best Practice programme’s free On Line Benchmarking (OLB) system has expanded its range of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to now offer an additional maintenance category, bringing the total number of KPIs available to 16.
The new category includes an additional 3 KPIs which are:
* No. of days planned maintenance per 100,000kms
* No. of days un-planned maintenance per 100,000kms
* Total cost of maintenance per 100,000kms
OLB is seen as the next generation in benchmarking and is designed to allow operators to compare their performance with that of similar operators, instantly and anonymously for FREE. By benchmarking performance, operators gain a thorough understanding of how they are performing against best-in-class, are able to identify areas for improvement and ultimately improve the efficiency of their operation.
Scott Hardy, OLB Project Manager said ‘The continued development of OLB across a greater range of KPIs is intended to allow transport operators even more opportunities to externally benchmark their operational performance with operators of similar vehicles in similar sectors.
OLB is intending to develop even further into other areas for KPI measurement, and feedback from users is crucial in helping to shape the future direction of OLB.’
