M6 scheme starts early

Monday, February 8th, 2010

A £1million resurfacing project on the M6 in south Cumbria – accelerated for delivery as part of the Department for Transport’s £700 million fiscal stimulus package – is to get underway later this month.

The Highways Agency project to resurface the southbound carriageway, repaint lining and install new cats’ eyes will start on Sunday, February 14, and should be completed before the end of March.

The work is taking place near Farleton Bank along a five mile stretch of the motorway east of Kendal between Killington Lake Services, just south of Junction 37 of the motorway, and Junction 36.

The work will provide a better driving experience and reduce maintenance visits.
