If you have a penchant for model trucks, you should check out www.modeltruckworld.co.uk a site run by collectors, for collectors, and the brainchild of Derek Murray from Fife in Scotland.
Derek revealed: “Its roots date back to 2003, where it began as a basic discussion forum focusing on the Corgi modern truck range. The following year this evolved into a bigger and better site, still retaining the Corgi forum, but now incorporating a comprehensive photo gallery to showcase the models.”
In February 2009, Model Truck World was launched. It has a regularly updated news page, photo gallery, chat room, a section to place classified adverts, and the ever popular forum.
“The latest site is different to previous ones, in that it no longer focuses on only one manufacturer. Now all manufacturers of die-cast model trucks are incorporated into the site. The most popular scale in this market is 1:50, so news and discussions mainly centre around this,” Derek noted.
“The forum currently has over 500 members, and always has plenty of lively discussions on existing and upcoming models from the likes of Corgi, Tekno and WSI. It also frequently contains exclusive information on new releases. As with all previous sites, membership is entirely free to register.”
